A HEARTFELT CONDOLENCE ON THE PASSING OF MR. JOHN TYOAPINE

I am devastated by the news of the untimely passing of Mr. John Tyoapine, the Immediate Past Vice Chairman of the Nigerian Bar Association, Makurdi Branch.

This is not just the loss of a colleague—it is the fall of a rising star in our profession. John was a man of principle, integrity, and quiet strength. He gave himself wholly to the service of the Bar, and in every role he occupied, he led with honour, humility, and heart. His death is a painful blow to the Makurdi Branch, to the Nigerian Bar, and to all of us who believe in the ideals of justice and selfless service.

What makes this tragedy even more gut-wrenching is the knowledge that he had just entered a new chapter of joy welcoming twin children into his home. That joy, now pierced by sorrow, is a reminder of how cruelly fragile life can be.

To his family, I say: you are not alone. The Bar stands with you. We mourn with you. And we will honour John’s memory, not just with words, but with a renewed commitment to the values he held dear.

May his soul find rest in the arms of the Almighty. And may those of us left behind find strength in his legacy.
