GOODWILL MESSAGE FROM AARE OLUMUYIWA AKINBORO, SAN TO THE NIGERIAN BAR ASSOCIATION, BENIN BRANCH ON THE OCCASION OF THEIR 2025 LAW WEEK.
I extend my heartfelt congratulations to the leadership and members of the Nigerian Bar Association, Benin Branch, on the occasion of your 2025 Law Week themed "Restoring Credible Justice: Bridging the Gap Between Law and Public Trust in Nigeria's Judiciary."
This theme is not only timely but strikes at the very core of our collective duty as legal practitioners—to uphold the integrity of our justice system and to serve as the moral compass of society. The growing gap between the law and public confidence in the judiciary demands urgent, deliberate, and thoughtful engagement, and I commend the Benin Branch for taking the lead in facilitating this crucial discourse.
As custodians of justice, we must continue to reflect, reform, and reinforce the principles that make our judiciary the last hope of the common man. Let this Law Week be a springboard for bold ideas, strategic partnerships, and renewed commitment to rebuilding public trust.
I wish you a successful, impactful, and inspiring Law Week.
Aare Olumuyiwa Akinboro, SAN
