In a profession that never stops evolving, the NBA-Young Lawyers Forum (YLF), Abuja Branch (Unity Bar) is setting a new standard for engagement and learning as it prepares for the 2025 YLF SUMMIT, scheduled for 30th October 2025 at the NBA Headquarters, Central Business District, Abuja.

Among the summit’s most anticipated sessions is “Wings and Anchor: The Business of a Lawyer in the Aviation and Maritime Sector,” a conversation designed to expand the horizon of young lawyers and explore the immense potential of these high-value, underexplored industries.

Mrs. Irene Imade Ideva – Director, Legal Services / Legal Adviser, Federal Ministry of Marine and Blue Economy

A name synonymous with maritime governance and public service excellence, Mrs. Irene Imade Ideva brings over three decades of legal experience in Nigeria’s public sector.
Currently serving as Director of Legal Services and Legal Adviser at the Federal Ministry of Marine and Blue Economy, she provides strategic guidance on regulatory compliance, maritime policy, and the implementation of Nigeria’s blue economy agenda.
Her participation in this session promises young lawyers a deep dive into how legal expertise shapes Nigeria’s growing ocean economy, where sustainability meets commerce, and where lawyers can anchor their influence beyond the courtroom.

Dr. Gatta Ayodele – Senior Lecturer, Aviation Law & Visiting Faculty, African Aviation and Aerospace University

With a Ph.D in Law (Ife) and specializations that span aviation regulation, humanitarian studies, and corporate governance, Dr. Gatta Ayodele stands at the intersection of academia and practice.
A Senior Lecturer and Visiting Faculty member at the African Aviation and Aerospace University, Dr. Ayodele has carved a niche as a thought leader in aviation law and airspace governance.
At the summit, he is expected to unpack the legal frameworks that keep the aviation sector airborne regulatory compliance, liability, contracts, and the future of air law in Africa’s growing aviation market.
