Aare Olumuyiwa Akinboro, SAN Graces the Opening Ceremony of the 2025 FIDA Nigeria Annual General Conference as the World Begins the 16 Days of Activism.
Today in Lagos, as the world marks the beginning of the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender Based Violence, the legal community gathered for the opening ceremony of the 2025 FIDA Nigeria Annual General Conference.
Among the distinguished guests who graced the event was Aare Olumuyiwa Akinboro, SAN, a steadfast ally of FIDA and a consistent advocate for justice, dignity, and the protection of women and children.
The conference theme, “Bridging Gaps, Building Futures: Women’s Rights, Justice and Sustainable Development in Nigeria,” aligns powerfully with the global campaign calling for an end to all forms of violence against women and girls. In a season where the world is paying closer attention to safety, inclusion, and rights, Aare’s presence reaffirmed his enduring belief that justice begins with protection.
From his decades of service to the Bar to his community rooted leadership, Aare Akinboro has consistently demonstrated that real change requires collective responsibility, lawyers, institutions, and communities working together to create safer environments for women and children. His support for initiatives that advance gender justice reflects a philosophy anchored in fairness, empathy, and accountability.
At the ceremony, Aare joined FIDANs, senior members of the Bar, judicial officers, and development partners as the conference opened with conversations on equity, accountability, and building a sustainable future where women and girls can thrive. The atmosphere was purposeful and deeply aligned with the global movement that began today.
As FIDA Nigeria commences this year’s conference activities and the world steps into the 16 Days of Activism, one thing stands clear:
When the legal community stands united for justice and protection, the future becomes safer for every woman and girl.
