Beyond Representation: NBA Abuja Law Week 2026 To Examine Legal Reforms And Inclusive Governance In Nigeria.


As Nigeria continues to navigate complex questions around governance, democratic participation, constitutional reform, and national development, conversations around inclusion and equitable representation remain increasingly important within public policy and institutional discourse.

Against this backdrop, the Nigerian Bar Association, Abuja Branch (Unity Bar), will host another important engagement during its 2026 Law Week themed “Advancing Gender Equity Through Legal Reforms and Reserved Seat Bill.”

Against focusing on personalities or political sentiments, the session is expected to critically examine the broader issues surrounding legal reforms, institutional participation, representation, and policy frameworks aimed at strengthening democratic inclusion and national development.

The conversation will bring together respected legal professionals, policymakers, governance advocates, and public affairs experts to engage on how sustainable reforms and institutional structures can create broader opportunities for participation while preserving the integrity of Nigeria’s democratic process.

Featuring distinguished voices including Ene Obi, Yakubu Philemon, SAN, Dr. Adaora Onyechere Sydney-Jack, Maimuna Yaya Abubakar, Anthony Enahoro Idoko, Esq., and chaired by Amina Suzanah Agbaje, the session promises robust conversations around governance, representation, constitutional development, and the future of inclusive policymaking in Nigeria.
